Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) communities celebrated NAIDOC Week with barbecues, cakes and kangaroo tails.

After winning the NT competition in May, Desert Think Tank are heading to Adelaide for the final of the Australasian Management Challenge. Seven teams will be competing from states across Australia and New Zealand.

Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) would like to wish everyone a happy NAIDOC Week. This year's theme is "For Our Elders", and we are proud to celebrate the contributions of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders.

On 22 June 2023 over 200 Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) staff members gathered in Alice Springs for the first CDRC Staff Forum.
The Staff Forum, which was the first for CDRC, was themed "Weaving Knowledge, Connecting Hearts" and was a huge success. The theme reflects the Council’s goal of bringing together employees from different departments and levels to share their knowledge and experiences, as well as hear from relevant external speakers.

Today is National Sorry Day, a special day when we remember and reflect on the hurt caused in the past and how we can make things right. It's about acknowledging the tough times when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children were taken away from their families, which we call the Stolen Generations.
