Norman Hagan has been selected to participate in the 2022/23 Kigaruk and Lookrukin Aboriginal Leadership Development Program. He is the Administration Officer, Council Delivery Services in Yuelamu with Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC).
Last Wednesday was International Women’s Day, which is celebrated every March 8. This day is about striving for a gender equal world, as well as celebrating women in all their diversity.
An upgrade of the Nyirripi road of the last 4km (144km to 147.8Km) has commenced. Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) has used Federal funding of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program to contract D & C Dehne Constructions to complete the works.
In December Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) Aged Care held their bi-monthly meeting, attended by staff from the Alice Springs office and Aged Care Coordinators from Nyirripi, Lajamanu, Willowra, Engawala, Atitjere and Wilora.

Yesterday’s Nyirripi Christmas party was a wonderful way to finish off the challenging year, with a full house of smiles and Christmas spirit backed by the traditions of old with carols, tinsel, lights, bon-bons and full bellies. The food was amazing and in spite the larger numbers than expected, a plate or two of left overs was had by all to take home.
