Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) is committed to providing animal management services to the Council's communities and several major outstations, and providing regular routine vet visits is an important part of achieving this.
During these visits dogs are treated for internal and external parasites, de-sexed (with the owner’s consent) or put down (with the owner’s consent). Vets are also asked to support local participation in animal management and promote education about animal management.
“We can desex and provide parasite control but are happy to try and help with any concerns that [dog owners] have,” said Dr. Alison Taylor, from Kippax Vet Hospital in Canberra.
