It has been a long time in the making due to recent supply chain problems thanks to COVID-19. But the yard care packs are beginning to be rolled out this week.
Each community household will receive a wheelbarrow, rake, Dutch hoe, hand trowel, watering can, gloves and a pack of seeds. Part of the fun has been the assembly of 40 wheelbarrows undertaken by the Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) Atitjere municipal team.
“The timing was excellent as the weather has been kind to us and the depot shed hasn’t been too hot or too cold so far. It’s been a nice change of work for the last couple of days,” said Warren Kenney, Manager, Council Services Delivery – East.
There is a pack on display in the CDRC office and each household will be presented with a Yard Care pack over the next week or two.
