This is an NT Government program for emerging Indigenous leaders from remote communities in the Northern Territory. It is used to develop and expand leadership skills, increase personal governance capabilities and learn more about the impact of government policies and programs on remote communities, in order to help influence and contribute to change.
Past Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) employees that have gone through the program include the current president, Adrian Dixon.
Up to 30 Aboriginal people from communities in the south and north of the Northern Territory can participate. They will engage with government at the highest level including an opportunity to present and meet directly with Cabinet ministers, providing advice and guidance on policies, projects and initiatives that impact on them, their families and communities.
Nominations close 30 July, 2022. To find out more about the program or to nominate yourself or someone you know, you can visit aboriginalaffairs.nt.gov.au
