About us

Central Desert Regional Council is a local government authority covering an area over 282,000 Sq. kilometres. The Council provides a range of services in 12 communities to the North of Alice Springs: Lajamanu, Ti tree, Wilora, Nturiya, Pmara Jutunta, Willowra, Laramba, Nyirripi, Yuelamu, Atitjere, Engawala and Yuendumu. There are also several homelands and outstations. The Central Desert area is considered remote and disadvantaged and over 80% of the population is Aboriginal.


The Role

We are seeking a Coordinator, ICT who is committed to providing Council with a high level of ICT Support and Solutions. Reporting to the Program Manager, Operations, the role will include being a proactive leader, identifying emerging ICT needs, and coordinating the implementation of change with proven experience in a similar role and relevant practical experience. The ideal candidate will have skill sets with strong troubleshooting and operational solutions in managing ICT Relationships with service providers and relevant stakeholders.


Keys to your success

  • Supervise and mentor ICT Trainee
  • Provide frequent verbal and written reports to manager or executives
  • Design, conduct, and report on server room audits
  • Update portable registers
  • Provide training to all new staff for ICT including induction and ad hoc training as requested
  • Analyse current ICT infrastructure and detail scope of work for ICT upgrades
  • Make informed recommendations on service direction, identifying improvements or efficiencies.
  • Plan and coordinate materials, resources, and activities to ensure correct procurement practices and policies are applied
  • Provide resolution of complex problems where responsibilities overlap between and with other suppliers
  • Technical and tactical relationship management of CouncilBiz, Telstra, and other IT Suppliers
  • Make informed recommendations to enhance the Councils ICT System
  • Ensure service level agreements are met and reported to manager
  • Ensure timely escalation of issues and problems to management and executives.
  • Perform hardware relocations, software installations, and re-configurations (PCs and Telephony)
  • Work with managers and executives to increase competency in ICT
  • Provide reports where required i.e. ICT report and correspondence reports for OCM
  • Systems Administration for IT and Records systems
  • Make informed recommendations to enhance the Councils ICT System
  • Ownership of active directory and user accesses.
  • Any other reasonable duties delegated by the Supervisor which is within level.

  • Total remuneration package $84,668.50 (salary $75,583.90)
  • 6 weeks of annual leave
  • 4 additional leave days
  • 17.5% leave loading
  • 10% superannuation
