TI TREE WOMEN’S TEAM IN GRAND FINAL OF SOUTHERN CUP BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

On Sunday 1 December at Alice Springs Basketball Stadium, the Ti-Tree women’s basketball team played a nail biting game in the grand final of the Southern Cup Basketball Tournament against MacDonnell Shire Women. Unfortunately they just missed out on the cup, losing by three points.

In the lead up, on Saturday 23 November, Ti-Tree hosted a basketball competition against Engawala, with both men’s and women’s teams playing to compete for a chance to compete in the Southern Cup.

Alice Springs Christmas Party a Celebration of the Year

This year the Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) Alice Springs Christmas party was held at the Mercure Inn on Friday, 29 November, with a great turnout. Everyone enjoyed the food and were delighted by the arrival of Santa, who handed out the presents. Some of the party goers thought Santa looked strangely familiar.

There will be Christmas parties held on the CDRC communities in December.

Towns Tussle for Title of Tidiest in Territory

Central Desert Regional Council had three finalists in the 2019 Territory Tidy Towns Sustainable Awards this year – Laramba, Ti Tree and Wilora.

The winners were announced on Friday, 29 November at the Star of Alice. The Tidiest Town winner overall was Nhulumbuy, but Laramba and Ti Tree took home four commendations each, including  Litter Management (Ti Tree and Laramba), Community Participation (Laramba), Landfill Site (Ti Tree), Tidy Town School (Laramba and Ti Tree) and Best Store (Ti Tree and Laramba).

The Central Desert Regional Council's Governance team wants you to Keep Your Workplace Clean, in this video as part of October's National Safe Work Month. It was part of the CDRC's short film competition to promote National Safe Work Month this October 2019.

Laramba Kangaroos Finish on a High

Softball NT held the 2019 Northern Territory Softball Championships in Alice Springs on the weekend. The Laramba Kangaroos were in pool A, and got off to a slow start, losing three games on Saturday and winning their last.
