Arts and Culture
There are three art centres in the shire, though the art centre at Atitjere is the only one under the direct management of the shire. A dedicated group of about 40 artists create paintings, ornaments and jewellery items that are mainly sold to tourists. Community Media Remote broadcasting takes place across the shire through a partnership with PAW Media.
Violence and Mediation
Two very successful programs run at Yuendumu, working closely with Night Patrol Services to enhance community safety. A mediation service has also commenced in Willowra.
The Council has two libraries, one in Ti-Tree and one in Lajamanu. The services in the libraries are improved all the time and both libraries now have access to My Story social history databases.
